In addition to a personal faith in Christ Jesus, prospective candidates should hold an Illinois Professional Educator License or be willing to pursue certification through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
Requirements

- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with a major or concentration in education or related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of teaching experience preferred.
- An ability to maintain discretion and absolute confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain a courteous and respectful attitude in all situations.
- The ability and desire to work in a team-oriented environment in a supportive, transparent and solution-driven fashion.

Salary Range and Benefits
The salary range for Early Education and Lower School faculty positions is $38-55K; for Middle and Upper School the range is $38-63K. Compensation is determined by a number of factors such as education, experience, and skills.

The Library Media Specialist combines traditional library duties with instructional technology integration, digital literacy, and support for educational technologies, all with the purpose of fostering students’ ability to be effective users and creators of information and ideas. The Library Media Specialist cultivates a love of reading, supports curriculum integration, and develops essential information literacy skills among students, creating an engaging learning environment while collaborating with teachers to enhance content area instruction through literature, research, and technology integration. The pay rate for the position is $30,400-$50,400.

Requirements

Teaching/Teacher Support Responsibilities
- Incorporate a variety of methods, materials, activities and media to ensure that students can access, evaluate and use information from multiple sources in order to learn, think, create and apply new knowledge.
- Teach appropriate ethical behavior in such areas as use of databases, copyright, fair use, privacy and licensing of intellectual property.
- Collaborate with teachers at every grade level, annually, to integrate research, information retrieval and evaluation skills, literature appreciation, or other relevant library media skills into the curriculum, supporting curriculum standards across content areas.
- Create and maintain a learning and teaching environment that is inviting, safe, flexible, and encourages exploration and discovery.
- Teach library class to PK through Grade 5, possibly teach a technology elective in the MS/US.
Program Administration
- Develop, assess and maintain programs, services, materials and activities to engage students, cultivate a love of reading and lifelong learning, and connect literature to classroom learning objectives.
- Oversee the library budget in a responsible manner.
- Assess and evaluate library media programs, services, resources and materials to ensure diverse print and digital resources which support the school’s education philosophy and curriculum.
- Participate in professional organizations/associations and continuing education; remain current in professional practices and developments.
Information Access
- Provide access to materials and information for students and staff, including management of the school’s library collection. Pull books for teachers or check out teacher bags/resources at the Northbrook library as needed.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures which ensure that access to information and materials are not impeded and appropriate resources are available when needed.
- Create and maintain a collection development process which includes maintaining accurate and current catalogs and records, weeding, and providing a diversity of resources for various ages and reading levels that support the school’s educational philosophy and curriculum.
- Integrate and promote technology tools and platforms that enhance student learning through research, creation, and presentation
- Within the first two years of employment, begin developing and implementing maker activities that connect literacy with hands-on learning experiences and foster a culture of discovery in the library space.
Others
- Oversee Early Education and Lower School Clubs.
- Participate in arrival and dismissal duties.
- Assist with school testing by being a test proctor.
- Train and supervise adult and student volunteers to perform duties effectively.
- Perform other duties as requested by the Principal.
The role of a substitute teacher is to be a competent, temporary replacement for the classroom teacher. In addition to a personal faith in Jesus Christ, the ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree, and have experience working with children in an educational setting. The substitute teacher must be able to manage a classroom, actively engage with the students, and have a willingness to follow the plans established by the classroom teacher. The pay rate is $15.00 per hour.
CHA is hiring students for temporary summer positions in the Facilities department to perform facility and grounds maintenance, including some routine cleaning and special projects. Hours are 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, with an hourly pay rate of $15.

General Responsibilities
- Receive and follow instructions as directed by the Facilities Manager and/or Facility Engineer.
- Perform general custodial duties such as cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, trash removal, etc, ensuring the campus is clean and neat.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and other special renovations/projects (i.e. plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.) as directed.
- Handle emergency cleaning duties during the camp hours (i.e. spills, throw ups, restroom messes).
- Lift, move, and set up furniture and equipment as needed, including helping in the auditorium set up for chapels.
- Set up and tear down for future events as needed, but not necessarily limited to, setting up, tearing down, and cleaning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Safety and Grounds Maintenance Responsibilities
- Adhere to safety practices, guidelines, and operating procedures at all times.
- Monitor windows and doors to ensure building security.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and neatness of school building, property and grounds, including sidewalks, parking lots, playground areas, common areas, and planting areas.
Physical Abilities and Working Conditions (this is a representative, not exhaustive list)
- Must be able to walk or stand for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, bend, grip, and reach in order to perform required manual tasks.
- Must have dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of tools.
- Must be able to perform physical exertion to manually move, lift, grip, carry, pull, or push heavy objects of materials up to 50 lbs and assist with team lifts for items over 51 lbs.
- Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, and hazards year-round.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes, odors, and potentially hazardous materials or substances within safety protocol and guidelines.
- Must be able to drive a motor vehicle, with a valid IL driver's licence, and operate a variety of equipment.
The Space Sharing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing space sharers on site, monitoring the building and grounds, and supervising events and/or activities to ensure the space sharing policy is followed during non-school hours. The Space Sharing Supervisor adheres to the daily task checklist to keep the building safe, secure, and in good condition during the events/activities.
Work hours: Sundays, 7 AM – 5 PM, with the possibility of extra hours based on the event/activity.
Pay rate: $17 per hour.

Christian Heritage Academy is seeking a Maintenance/Custodial Worker to perform facility and grounds maintenance, including some routine cleaning and basic security and safety tasks, and periodically supervise space sharing events. The hourly rate for this position is between $18-$21.
