| "Read to Succeed" Great America Reading Program |  |

Each year in early January students who wish to participate start recording their time reading books above and beyond their assigned school reading assignments. If they read at least six hours and meet the deadline in late February they qualify for a free ticket to Six Flags Great America. Parents may also read to their children or listen to books on tape or CD. Tickets arrive in early May and are distributed to the students. Teachers also receive a complimentary ticket for supporting the program. In 2009-10, we had 165 students and 14 teachers receive a free ticket to use during the summer months at any Great America park. This is the highest number of participants in the 8 years we have been involved! |
