Every fall during Parent-Teacher conference week, the CHA Book Fair takes place in the Library. A highlight of the year for many parents, students and staff, the book fair provides an opportunity to purchase a wide variety of books, software, posters, calendars, and educational games. Teachers bring their classes to the Fair to browse and to create wishlists, and some families do their gift shopping at the Book Fair as well as shopping to add to their own home libraries. The week-long event kicks off early Tuesday morning with an Teacher's Breakfast and shopping time during which teachers may browse the selections and create a wish list. As parents come in to shop they may choose books to purchase from an individual teacher's wish list, enriching their classroom resources. Each year a different fair theme such as Reading Blizzard, Book Safari or Read, White and Blue, provides an exciting backdrop for the event. Profits from the fair are used to purchase books for the Library as well as other needs of the school. Book Fair Week hours are Monday through Friday during school hours and two evenings. |
