Financial Aid Policies
- Financial aid grants are only awarded to full-time students (grades 1-8). Limited financial aid is available to full-time kindergarten students.
- The maximum family grant for all families, grades 1-9, is 50% of tuition and fees per student Maximum family grant for full day kindergarten is 35%.
- Financial aid awards will be granted only after a student is approved for admission. A signed Enrollment Agreement will need to be returned to the Bookkeeping Department of Christian Heritage Academy upon notification of financial aid grant.
- Applications for financial aid are considered on an individual basis and we try to consider any special circumstances. Adjustments are made from the standardized School and Student Service (SSS) recommendation for items such as debt and home equity, which the Bible views differently from the world.
- While not required, parent involvement at Christian Heritage Academy is considered a reflection of a family’s commitment to the school.
For a financial aid application to be considered in the first review, the Financial Aid Coordinator must receive ALL items by March 1. After this date financial aid applications will be considered based on availability of funds.
Financial Aid grants are determined on the basis of the following: SSS assessment, federal and state tax returns and schedules, and the availability of financial aid dollars in the annual budget. To ensure confidentiality and objectivity, only the CHA Financial Aid Coordinator will see the family’s name on financial aid application forms. The other members of the Financial Aid Commission will reference each application by the SSS number only.
Steps To Apply for Financial Aid:
- Complete the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) Questionnaire Go to www.nais.org and follow their instructions for filling out their form. You may begin the form and save it and return later to complete it. Please note that the application requires the payment of a processing fee to SSS and that it will take 4-6 weeks to process your application. After their review, SSS will forward an evaluation to the Financial Aid Coordinator at Christian Heritage Academy. To assure completion of the SSS evaluation in time, it is recommended that the SSS questionnaire be submitted to SSS no later than January 31 (you may need to use projected figures).
- Complete the CHA Financial Aid Application Form – Note any special information or circumstances that you want to communicate with the Financial Aid Commission.
- Send a copy of your federal and state tax returns* (with W-2 forms) - We strongly suggest that you file your tax forms early as your application can be considered, but final determination and notification cannot take place until the federal and state tax returns are received.
